2015 Jan 14th – MCCC Members Night – Photoshop Demonstrations. by Julia B

16 Members braved the icy winds blasts to attend at the Institute Hall last night, or rose from their sick beds and warm houses to come along. Best wishes to those who kept their bugs at home warm with them. The evening was one of photoshop and editing tips and techniques, and from the club’s laptop we followed various members doing interesting things to their images.

We began with Sam who showed us a few ways of lightening eyes without making people look like reverse pandas. His lasso skills would have impressed Jessie James.

Gordon then followed this by showing us ways of adjusting multiple images in the same way by setting up actions. Something that I had never even known that you could do! You have to love a multi-tasker!

Willie then rushed back in breathless with his Terry White video (initially it hadn’t run, but then nor had Willie) which he had reloaded from home and rushed back to us. Terry White gave us his interpretation of 10 things that beginners want to do in photoshop. I’m intermediate and haven’t used most of those techniques, but we all loved the content aware fill!

We broke for coffee and after that Roy asked if we all worked in the Raw? Nobody dared say no, so he then went on to show us hints and tips on how to do things in the Raw files, with some dodging and burning thrown in.

Thank you so much to the contributors for their efforts, I for one would love to go back and watch the video again, for which I think a link will be on the forum in the near future.
