The Results

In First Place was Debra who had a very nice image of a bee, second was Wilma Pincott, whose image was of a woodland and water scene, and coming third was Jimmy Jack with a heron. The prizes were awarded by Becky Plunkett, the Greenspace Officer for West Lothian Council.

The competition is organised by The Executive of the Mid Calder Camera Club
Launch date 01st February 2012 – Closing date Monday 16th April 2012

The Competition is open to all amateur photographers
Photos must be taken in any local Park or Green Space
The theme of the competition is “The Best Thing About My Park / Green Space”.

For example:
Park View
A landscape taken in any local Parks or Green Space Note: If you are submitting images that includes people, the photographer must have prior consent from the people in the photograph.
Plant Portrait
A plant (tree, shrub or flower) either singly or in a group of the same plant, or a close-up, taken in any of the local Parks or Green Space
Animals, insects or birds taken in any local Parks or Green Space

Competition prize

Prizes include a Years membership to the Mid Calder Camera Club; a Gift Voucher from Jessop’s and the winning photographs will be published on the MCCC Web Site. (

Conditions of Entry

Entries will be accepted from 31st January 2012 until the closing date for the competition which is Monday 16th April 2012. Winners will be notified in advance of 28th April 2012 and prizes presented at the Craigshill Green Space event on 28th April 2012. Winning photos will be exhibited at the clubs display at the event
 Competition is open to all amateur photographers.
 Prints and digital images will be accepted from any type of film or digital cameras. Photographs should be printed no larger than A4 and left un-mounted
 Digital image entries must be less than 2MB (the longest side maximum 1024 px).
 Up to three photographs may be submitted per entry.

 The back of each print must carry the name, address, telephone and email address of the entrant, and the Park or Green Space in which it was taken. Prints should be posted to The MCCC Organiser( a digital version of the print should also be supplied, (largest side maximum 1024 px) via email ( or on a CD, to allow for publication).

Digital images:
 Should be e-mailed to: with a completed entry form attached. Please put your name as the subject of the email.
 Copyright of images will remain with the photographer, but MCCC claim the right with Green Space to exhibit the entries and to use them in publicity material to promote Mid Calder Camera Club and Green Space We regret that prints and Images cannot be returned.

The winners will be chosen by judges appointed by Mid Calder Camera Club and the judges’ decision is final.

Photos must be the original work of the entrant and taken at any local Parks or Green Space.
