COMPETITION CHOICES

Guys.
I don't know if it is just me but I don't think the present arrangement for choosing for external competitions is very good. It seems to me that Gordon picks a certain number of digi images, colour and b/w prints and the rest of the members are given about 2 minutes to say yeh or nae to them. As there are at least 3 or 4 external competitions can I suggest that we put together a group of 3 or 4 members who are nominated to meet on a night outwith the usual camera club night and decide. (It could be in someones house or in the black bull or wherevear they can all look over a laptop). These could then be brought along to the next meeting for members to see our choices.
I feel some of the excitement is lost by not knowing our images before they are presented in the competition and I think there is too much pressure on Gordon not to choose his best images.
Just a thought but I used to like the nights when we chose images for these competitions.

I agree with Jim, having a group of members to decide on the enreries is a great idea. I would suggest that there was someone present in that group form each section in our club, i.e one from begginner, intermediate and advanced. That way each catagory gets a say in what goes into external

Guys I would welcome assistance for Gordon - but would point out that we already have written in the rules - that Gordon will utilise the top shots from internal club competitions and use them for external and inter club competitions.
Hope this clarifies.

Sorry I didn't realise that these were the rules. Don't agree with them but if thats the case then so be it.
