Hi Everybody,

Just lo let you all know that we are planning a trip to Glasgow's waterfront to do a photography night session on Wednesday December 2nd - leaving 6:20 pm. The area of intrest will be around the SECC, Hyatt Hotel, City Hotel, STV, and the BBC and the Science Centre Buildings (both sides of the river).

The community bus is available - Steve will be driving - but the seating is limited (14 seats available). This would have to be on a first come first served arrangement. For those that can car pool or make your own way please let us know below. For those who wish to go on the community bus, please let us know below as well.

It should be a great opportunity to do some night photography, and on the squinty bridge you can try your hand at car light trails under the purple lit arch.

Long exposures are the norm, and you are better off putting your camera in manual mode and adjusting the shutter and f-stops yourself. Expect exposures at around 10 seconds at f/16
or the equivalent. So a tripod is a must. Practicing this in the light is a lot easier than in the dark, so I suggest you give it a go and practice adjusting the settings on your camera before the night shoot (dare I say - "read your manual on how to do this"). A small flashlight will come in very handy, and if you have one, a wide angle lens is also a good idea.

Dress warm, as it can get very chilly doing night photography in December. If you have an MCCC ID card please wear them. We will also have 10 walkie talkies to share. If you also have any please bring them along. If you are going on the bus, please meet at the Institute Hall no later than 6:20pm. If you are arranging to car pool, or make your own way there, please meet at the BBC Scotland coffee shop - at 7:15pm (Clyde - South Shore). The car park is open 24 hours - GBP 3.00, you can get a parking token as you leave. Address - 40 Pacific Quay, Glasgow G51 1DA (for your sat nav).

See you all there!

Hi All,

Great, that's 9 for the bus so far -SteveC (reserved the front right seat), Deb, Willie, Sara-Jane, IanG, Dougie, Linda, Sandy, and Hugh - 8 seats left. Robert is for car pooling, if you are offering  - thanks, I'm sure it will be needed. Jim is finding his own way, and unfortunately Louise cannot make it.

Thanks, Willie
