Can I have some suggestions for next years themed competitions.
only ONE suggestion per member
As soon as I have ten serious suggestions I will start a poll for all members to vote on their preference
Also I am thinking of arranging the four appraisal nights six weeks apart instead of 4 . ie 1st middle October 2nd end Nov 3rd middle Jan 4th end March
Thoughts ?

Hi Gordon, Since there is an opportunity to go to the Farne Islands, I was going to do the right thing and suggest Nature for a theme, bit since we only can have one suggestion, then for me it has to be -
"SCAPES" - This would include Landscapes, Cityscapes and Seascapes.
I know it is a good idea sometimes to try and do another type of photography outside of our comfort zone, but if we only have one choice, then it has to be the one that I'm most comfortable with - as I enjoy doing it the most.
Spreading the Appraisals further apart is a great idea.
Best - Willie

No trees were destroyed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Hi Gordon,
I like Fred's suggestion of Nature, which would include flowers, birds, plants, animals, insects, etc. It is good theme because it means that you don't have to go further than your back garden to get the shot! Although, the Farne Islands would be better!
However, since it is already suggested, I'll have to go with my second favourite, MONOCHROME. Monochrome is a good theme because it is a section in a couple of inter-club competitions and the club does very well when it is an appraisal theme. Plus, it is the widest theme in terms of subject matter.
Also, I agree with spreading the appraisals out.

I'm going to go with Landscape, just think it should be there every year, as said by Willie the scape bit covers a wide range of Photography. George R

My suggestion is " Action and movement ". I know this sounds like two subjects but the two are similar as well as being different. I realise action is not everyone's cup of tea but a lot of action shots can show movement as well hence my suggestion, but it could alo include long exposure water shots for example.
