Well done to Ian for appraising such a large number of images. There were a number of minor issues that came up some of which have been mentioned already.
I don't think we can cope with image numbers in the time we have on the night so I think we should perhaps reconsider the numbers people can enter. Although the first appraisal is normally the largest of the four we should perhaps make provisional arrangements to limit members to two images just in case we have a similar entry next time around. I have suggested to the exec that members entering three images should nominate their third choice image which would be dropped if we have a similar entry next time around. We will obviously have to decide what the limit will be for the number of images we can appraise in the time we have.
I thought the print stand was ok and agree that the projected form of the prints had some teeething problems which is only to be expected. IN every appraisal there will always be people who submit small prints which is perfectly acceptable so I think projecting a copy has to be a good idea so that people get a good look at them.Bearing in mind that if the club continues with the current membership numbers time is always going to be a problem so members may not have much time to actually handle the prints and have a closer look when we finish
By the way well done to everyone who entered what a cracking selection of images we saw on the night. I have taken the best prints away and all the PDI to make our selection for Midlothian interclub next month. What a difficult job I will have !!
The club has ordered a couple of print storage boxes which I should have by next week. Any prints not collected after appraisals and not required for inter clubs will be left in the box in our cupboard and it will be members responsibility to remove them at their leisure.

Thanks to Ian for his hard work doing the judging. I thought the projection of the prints is a good idea, just some things to iron out.
The judge must look at the print and not the screen, the projected image is only for the audience, the person who submits the prints must sumit the same exact image to be viewed and not a uncropped version, some of which we saw last night.
After this is done I think we should be up and running. Apart from that I think things went pretty smoothly considering the large entry.
Well done committe for your hard work setting the new appraisal system up.
