PERMAJET WORKSHOP SUNDAY JULY 10th 2011 1pm to 5pm  MID CALDER INSTITUTE HALL Rod Wheelans and Libby Smith

The club is hosting a PermaJet printing workshop on SUNDAY 10th July. This will be of interest to anyone who prints their own images. It will give hints and tips on printing and will of course use Permajet products. It will cost approx £400 to stage this event. The cost will be £20 to £25 per member. An all day course run by Permajet themselves costs £75 plus travel to Dumfries so this is a great chance to experience this training for a fraction of the normal cost. We will need approx 20 people to attend to make this event financially viable so please post below if you can attend. In the event we are a few people short we will be offering places to other local club members.

PRINTING TO EXHIBITION QUALITY

Everything you need to know to produce exhibition quality prints using Epson Printers and Permajet Papers.  The workshop includes colour management, monitor calibration, ICC printer profiles, printer settings, test prints, soft proofing, Epson Adv. Mono, choosing the best paper, best practice printing, Eco-Flo CIS Ink Systems and much more.

At the AGM last night I made a statement regarding why I feel everyone should try to attend this course. I would like to make it known to all why I feel this way? One of the hardest things to get right in photography is WYSIWYG - What you see on the screen is what you actually get out of your printer. This is because of all the variables involved - Your Screen Resolution for one, Photoshop, (or equivalent) software, your choice of paper, ink and printer and the printer configuration. As you can see a great deal of variables and many places where you can get it wrong!

I hope that Permajet can explain - in hopefully simple terms, how we can coordinate all to achieve more accurate results. That is why I recommend your attendance.

Kindest Regards

Thanks to those who have replied directly to me via Email but Tom A, Heather and Ken Boyd and Jim Mckinna want to come along now. That makes a total of 11 people so far.

Now 13 members interested George R and Laura Sloan added to list
