Here are some other interesting sites to check out if you are thinking about going to the Blawhorn Moss Nature Reserve near Blackridge and Armadale:

An article about a walk in the reserve: http://www.konectdirectory.co.uk/on-the-boardwalk.php

Photographs of it and the surrounding area: http://www.geolocation.ws/v/W/4d90fe4c878656685b00feec/blawhorn-moss-path-to-the-raised-bog-in/en

From a gardener's perspective: https://jowoolf.wordpress.com/2010/06/03/3rd-june/

Video with 'interesting' music to accompany it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhgtFTnixFo
... and accompanied with realistic wind: http://www.flixya.com/video/750481/Blawhorn-Moss-West-lothian

and if you want to learn some entomology (from scratch), this get A for cuteness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzc6m3xMkiM

If we are at a loose end for doing something next Wednesday would it be a possibility to go to Blawhorn Moss Nature Reserve near Blackridge and Armadale?  Never been before but have heard it is quite nice and that there are quite a lot of things to see, but don’t know what it would be like in the evening.  Anyone been before?  Any thoughts on it?  Link to the website is www.nnr-scotland.org.uk/blawhorn-moss/.  People might want a week off anyway, but something to keep in mind if we don’t want to go next week.

Yours  Margaret

Fred and I went there last year and it is peat beds as far as the eye can see.  Out of 10 I would give it 1.  Sorry but that's my opinion.

I would agree with Vera. Nothing much to see at all.
