How to stop Picasa finding all your photos/video on your PC First of all if you have Picasa installed and it has all your photos from all your drives in its albums, I suggest that you do the Following open Picasa go to TOOLS , then Folder Manager.
• Drop down Menu click Folder Manger. (this lists all your Folders and drives So YOU choose whether or Not to have Picasa to find pictures inside it)
• On the left hand side you will see a list of YOUR PC’s folders and Driver's and on the Right you will see 3 Radio buttons click the middle button which states REMOVE FROM PICASA – Do this for each folder and drive and it will add a RED CROSS on the drives and folders on the left hand side of the pane
• CLICK OK this will now clear all your Albums and you can now start from a clean sheet .
To Install Picasa and use from New1. Go to the Picasa link and download Picasa 3.8 go to your download folder, and click the Picasa 38-setup.exe file.
2. It opens up do you want to run this file drop down menu click RUN. And follow the wizard. Click Yes and install Picasa on your PC and then click Finished. Picasa now opens
THIS IS WHERE YOU HAVE TO TELL PICASA WHERE IT IS TO SEARCH FOR ALL YOUR PICURES ON YOUR PC.1) The page opens with a two radio points you have to click one of them It already has clicked the bottom one which tells Picasa to “Search my whole computer for Pictures” unclick this and click the top Radio point which says “Only search my Documents, My Pictures and Desktop” Click this one it unclicks the bottom radio point at the same time
2) Click on Continue
3) This takes you Picasa’s powerful photo viewer CLICK Don't USE PICASA PHOTO VIEWER- at the Bottom and Then Click Finish.
4) Picasa now starts to search all of your PC you'll see it tells you at the top left that it scanning 15% complete now do the following.
• Click Tools at the top of the screen
• Drop down Menu click Folder Manger. (this lists all your Folders and drives So YOU choose whether or Not to have Picasa to find pictures inside it)
• On the left hand side you will see a list of YOUR PC’s folders and DRIVE’s and on the Right you will see 3 Radio buttons click the middle button which states REMOVE FROM PICASA – Do this for each folder and drive and it will add a RED CROSS on the drives and folders on the left hand side of the pane
• CLICK OK this will now clear all your Albums and you can now start from a clean sheet .
Note. To add and search your own folders for images go to FILE and pick what you want to do.
