There is a new type of printer coming out, The MemJet, that instead of having several rows of jet nozzles on a print head that travels back and forth across the paper, has one print head the width of the paper and has many thousands of jet nozzles all the way across the printer. Silverbrook, the company that developed it says that the ink will be roughly the same price as the current premium inks, but instead of being 12.5 ml, will be sold at the 50 ml size for the same price.

They are talking about a desktop photo printer that will print 30 full colour prints per minute, retailing for about £150. In comparison, the HP equivalent – HP Edgeline  CM8050 printer which retails above £16,000.00.

Willie

I take it you have checked the website. They are talking about a wide plotter (A0) doing 1 ft per second.

That would be great for my office.

The A4 looks amazing.

By the way they said late 2007. Any further news?

This looks really interesting and would be great for event photography.

I hope they can keep the price to £150!

Regards
