Gardening Scotland

Gardening Scotland

For the ninth consecutive year, Mid Calder Camera Club has been asked by the organisers of this prestigious event to act as official photographers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for members to take a variety of photographs – flowers, people, candid shots, formal portraits, entertainers and exhibitors own requests. The event was open for four days and the Club provided photographers for each of the days events.

Flowers Birds of Pray “Celebs”

Dates and Venue
Each year the show takes place around the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday of June at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh.

Show Opening Times
Thursday (last in) May. Club members can attend (the public are not allowed to attend on the Thursday).
Friday: 10am – 6pm open to V.I.P’s and the Public
Saturday: 10am – 6pm Public Access
Sunday: 10am – 5pm Public Access

Mid Calder Camera Club has been asked to supply images to Gardening Scotland organizers requirements. Thus making us the “Official Photographers”. The same criteria will apply as in previous years. It is basically people shots that are required not so much the flower / plants shots as they have their own Photographers. If you want flower shots then Thursday is the better day to access the floral hall as there is no public access on the Thursday

There is usually a briefing on what the members roll will be at Gardening Scotland a week before the event, followed by 10 to 15 minutes Audio Visual show that will illustrate what type of images the club has submitted in previous years.

All members attending as the Official Photographer’s will be given the following at the briefing:
1. Official Photographers Badge
2. Parking Pass (details of where you can park will be given at the briefing)
3. Entrance Pass (This allows entrance at any time from Thursday until the end of the show 17.00 Sunday.
4. Lunch tickets (On the day attended, one per member, collected and issued by that days team leader).

Steve Deb Margaret

As in previous years complimentary tickets for friends and family will be available to members. Priority will be given to members attending the show to provide images to Gardening Scotland and will also be limited initially to TWO per member. More tickets may become available once we know whose coming etc.
We will also be looking for a DAY coordinator (Team Leader) to be the point of contact for Gardening Scotland organizers and everyone in the team attending that day.

MCCC Members (L to R) Andy, Sara-Jane, Margaret, Willie, Fred (lower), Tom, Bob, and George.

Please Note: All wanting to attend must come to the briefing.
