Simple border around whole image

1. Open Image

2. Select-----All

3. Edit-------Stroke

4. Choose colour and pixel size appropriate for image
Default colour is foreground colour set in task bar

5. Click OK

Border around extended image

1. Open Image

2. Edit---Canvas Size . Make sure relative box is checked. Choose appropriate size to extend canvas. Colour of extension is chosen. White has been chosen above. Click OK.

3. Select-----All

4. Edit-------Stroke

5. Choose colour and pixel size appropriate for image . Default colour is foreground colour set in task bar

Continue from above instructions

7. Edit---Canvas Size . Make sure relative box is checked. Choose appropriate size to extend canvas. Colour of extension is chosen. White has been chosen above. Click OK.

8.To add a blurred border you must create a new layer so that only the border will blur

9.Layer----- New . Name layer border --- OK

10. Select-----All

11.Edit-------Stroke

12. Choose colour and pixel size appropriate for image . Default colour is foreground colour set in task bar

13. Click OK

14. To blur outer layer make sure border layer is selected in layer pallete ( F7 )

15. Filter----Gaussian Blur. Choose appropraite level of blur to your taste.

16. Extra layer has made your image a PSD file. Can be saved as PSD file which will preserve border layer and enable changes to border at a later stage.

17 Save as JPEG format for entry to competitions
