Stewart Niven from Kinross Camera Club gave a presentation on his photography of Scottish Islands. He took us to Barra, Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula, North Uist, Lewis and Harris, St Kilda and Mull but also managed to include a range of Sea stacks and a small island called Lunga. He brought alive through his images the landscapes and geography of the islands. There was also information about the sea lochs, stone circles, Neolithic cairns, castles, wildlife, resident birds and so much more.

After a rather cloudy start in Barra (it is Scotland!) Stewarts images explored vistas that reminded the audience of what a diverse and awe inspiring landscape Scotland has to offer.
Stewart was happy to have members ask questions and provided tips and insight into some of his striking images like those of sea eagles at close range. His enthusiasm was palpable and he was able to give members an idea of the planning and costs that go into these photography expeditions.
Above all what really showed through was Stewart’s dedication and perseverance to get the shot come rain or shine.

All in all a great night and a great turnout from our members.
