January comes around and it is time for our annual battle with local rivals Livingston Camera Club. Judge Dave Ferguson from Denny cast his eyes over the 48 images from both clubs. At the end of the deliberations Mid Calder ran out narrow winners 444 pts to 440 pts. In what was a high scoring competition which reflected the high quality images on show Mid Calder established a healthy lead after the print section appraisal. The judge consistently praised the quality of the printing of the Mid Calder images and it was no real surprise that a lead of 11 pts was the end result. Livingston clawed some of the deficit back but in the end the home club emerged the winners. In a high scoring match 10 images were given top marks of 20, five from each club. In the print section all of Mid Calder's images scored 18 or above and in the pdi section nothing lower than 17 ensured the Mid Calder victory.
